Interface conditions

In addition to the six phasic conservation equations we have three interface or jump conditions which describe the conservation of mass, momentum and energy across the liquid-vapor interface. Since the liquid-vapor interface has vanishing mass, it cannot store momentum or energy. With reference to the conservation equations this means that we have the following conditions

\begin{eqnarray*}
{\mbox{$\dot{m}$}_{g \ell}' + \mbox{$\dot{m}$}_{\ell g}' = 0}...
...{$<\!{e_g}\!>$}_g + \frac{1}{2} \mbox{$<\!{u_g}\!>$}_g^2 ) = 0
\end{eqnarray*}

\end{eqnarray}}$

At this stage we discuss the question of assumptions in regard to the postulated conservation equations more thoroughly.
