Derivation of curve fits for the transport
properties
In this appendix we will derive simple curve fit formulae for calculation of the
following transport properties
- .
- Surface tension of water-steam:
.
- .
- Viscosity of water and steam:
,
.
- .
- Thermal conductivity of water:
.
Since most boiling water reactors operate with a mean system pressure around 70
bar our aim is to construct curve fit formulae which have a high accuracy in the
vicinity of 70 bar which corresponds to a saturation temperature of 286
.
