Input for the thermal design calculation

The input for the thermal design calculations consists of geometric information in regard to the fuel rods, a specification of the gap conductance and the flux depression factor.

The geometric information is taken from Figure 14.1. The gap conductance, Hg [W/( ${\mbox{m}}^2\cdot$K)], is conservatively taken

\begin{displaymath}
H_g = 6000 {\mbox{ W/(${\mbox{m}}^2\cdot$K)}}
\end{displaymath} (14.9)

and the flux depression factor, $\cal F$ [--], is given by

\begin{displaymath}
{\cal F} = 0.95
\end{displaymath} (14.10)

In Figure 14.3 we have shown the resulting input file for the thermal design calculations, input_v2.trm.
