Subcooled boiling heat transfer

Returning to the subcooled boiling region we can according to Collier and Thome [19] use

in connection with Chen's correlation. In this case $h_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize c}}$ is calculated by (11.44) with F=1 and $h_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize NcB}}$ is obtained by (11.49) where S is calculated at ${\mbox{Re}}_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize TP}} =
\mbox{\bf Re}_f$.

It is not clear in [19] how the properties should be evaluated but we assume that $h_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize NcB}}$ is evaluated at the local saturation pressure and $h_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize c}}$ is evaluated using the bulk or mean liquid temperature, $T_\ell$ ( $T_\ell < T_{\mbox{\protect\scriptsize sat}}$!).
